VICE PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE

The ruby rhododendrons are in full bloom. In the distance, the snows glister in the morning sun as Loreto, Darjeeling awakens to a new dawn, full of promises. A new voyage awaits us, new adventures and discoveries. The year that was has been a fulfilling one in many ways, and we have much to be thankful for.

At Loreto, we aim to nurture with love and care, the children entrusted to us and help them become responsible world citizens.

There have been many success stories and proud moments for us as we watch our girls go on to become achievers. We are indeed privileged to be in a position where we have the opportunity to influence these impressionable young minds. But what makes us happiest is to see our Loreto girls grow up to become adults who dare to confront injustice, who truly care for the under-privileged, and act with unshakeable belief in truth and compassion.

The world today needs peace and is in need of healing. We believe that our girls will become these peace makers and healers and help create an environment where all may live without fear, in true freedom.

Only an all round development of the child can ensure that this dream becomes a reality. Inclusive education is the fundamental basis of society and the education of the girl child is the beginning of a tolerant and progressive society.

As disciples of Mary Ward, our foundress, we pledge to overcome all setbacks and to keep surging ahead with hope and courage.

I wish the teachers and students of Loreto the very best for 2017. Together we shall continue to live the dream that women in time to come will do much.
