Description:
On 19th July 2023, thirty children, from Class 8 were selected to participate in the JPIC Ban Mahatsov event. They were taken to the designated ground where Mr. Noel Rai, the school gardener, had prepared a patch of land for herb and vegetable plantation. The school received medicinal seeds and saplings from Sir P Lama, and the forest department generously provided 100 saplings, out of which 60 were planted within the school campus.
With great enthusiasm, the children planted the seeds of Bojo(commonly known as Sweet Flag), Betlauro (Costus Speciosus) , lettuce, carrots, and Lakshmi Taru (also known as Simarouba glauca ), a medicinal herb known for its cancer-curing properties. The objective behind this initiative is to instill in young minds the significance of planting seeds for the future and foster a sense of responsibility towards nature.
